It's hard to believe that I've already been living in New Zealand for almost 4 months. Time is flying by so quickly! I am already a third of the way through my originally intended stay. I am actually considering staying longer and getting a 5 year veterinary degree here instead of doing 10 years plus at UC Davis. Moving away from home was the best thing I ever did. I still think about what things would have been like if I had stayed but in the long run, everything would have stayed the same and I would still feel like a mess.

I got a new camera finally! A little Canon a590 was all I could afford but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

A couple weeks ago, I had the shittiest day but on my way home from work I saw this little Jack Russell terrier looking dog crossing the street by itself. My animal protector instincts kicked in and I followed in hot pursuit. We ended up at her house but since nobody was home, I took her, Stella, home with me and called her mother. After 3 or 4 hours of having a ball together, she got picked up at 9:30 pm. The next day there was a bottle of pinot gris and a thank you card. Needless to say, I got drunk and got all Street Car Named Desire and wailed, "SSSSTELLAAAAAA!!" all night long.
